The inspiration for Lupus Dux comes from the wolf (Latin: canis lupus; ducere = to lead; dux = leader). Lupus Dux can be loosely translated as “leading wolf” and thus offers the ideal identification figure for the target group of managers. Depending on the phase of his life, the wolf either wanders through the wilderness as a lone wolf or leads his pack. Many managers are very familiar with the dual role of lone wolf and leader who bears responsibility for others.

Expedition Individuation is a combination of courses with an expedition character and the principle of individuation. Individuation is a term from psychology and was coined by Carl Gustav Jung. The focus is on self-realisation and transformative learning processes.

You can find detailed information on the term Expedition Individuation under Courses.

Time is also the most valuable commodity for us. We recognise the time constraints of executives and high performers. With this in mind, we also offer preparation and follow-up for ExpIndi-II and ExpIndi-III in online form on request. However, due to the objectives and team dynamics of ExpIndi-I, joint physical preparation and follow-up is necessary in this case.

With pleasure! Have you had a successful operational career in business or society, are you on a long-term sabbatical or are you looking for a challenge beyond the supervisory board? As a special service for our participants, we are always interested in critical high-profile individuals who would like to share their extraordinary success story with like-minded people around the campfire, but who are also willing to learn from the group’s experiences for their own personal development. If you are such an individual, please contact us directly at: SeniorExecutive@Lupus-Dux.com or success-storytelling@Lupus-Dux.com.

Yes, in addition to offering the opportunity to work on your own skills and personality through Expedition Individuation, we also want to regularly strengthen the network. Graduates meet regularly to exchange ideas. In addition to a keynote speech on current challenges from selected personalities, new developments in the field of personal development and leadership are shared. Meeting in this community is always an opportunity to tie up loose ends and strengthen synergies.

In line with the latest scientific findings from psychology, adult education and leadership theory, both face-to-face and, if required, online formats are combined with high-quality practical, experiential andragogical training and scientific-psychological coaching outside the comfort zone.
Instruments used include

  • Teaching talks (seminars)
  • Individual coaching
  • Group coaching
  • Practical lessons / teaching exercises
  • Individual and group exercises
  • “Expedition-Andragogy”

Even if the individual courses differ in terms of their focus, there are certain general basic requirements that every future ExpIndi graduate must fulfil. These are

  • a medical clearance certificate,
  • fitness for the tropics,
  • physical resilience,
  • the ability and willingness to take seven (ExpIndi-I) to ten (ExpIndi-II) days away from everyday operations (willingness to “switch off”),
  • the willingness to participate in an interdisciplinary group, to share your own experiences and to be open to new concepts and “learning from each other” and
  • Completion of international health insurance.

In addition, the core module can only take place after completion of the preparatory seminar and participation in group and individual coaching.

In order to fulfil the high demands and the diverse objectives of our courses, the Lupus Dux team is made up of various experts with different (academic) backgrounds.

Our team consists of

  • psychologists,
  • andragogists (scientific adult education),
  • military experts and
  • emergency paramedics (ParaMedic).

We also regularly invite various graduates of our courses, external coaches or experienced managers to share their experiences and perspectives as part of a “storytelling around the campfire”.

The safety of our participants is our top priority. In order to guarantee this at all times, an emergency paramedic is on hand at every course. In addition, all coaches also have paramedic and emergency training. An air lift is available for actual emergencies that require further medical treatment. The Namibian capital Windhoek has very good medical facilities and hospitals, which enable care on a European level.

Even though “switching off” is an important part of our training courses, there are of course always situations in which accessibility is required. Depending on the location, WLAN is available to the participants. However, as there is generally no mobile internet or mobile phone reception in the Namibian wilderness, accessibility in emergencies is ensured via satellite phone, the number of which is communicated to all participants and their families in advance.
